COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to meet the California state requirement for Geometry. Its topics include constructions, rigid motions, geometric relationships and properties, similarity, modeling, coordinate geometry, conics, circles, measurement, dimensionality and trigonometric ratios. Students will be able to study these topics through an investigative, project based, inquiry-driven approach while utilizing a wide-range of multi-media resources on a daily basis. Students will also give back to their community and to the public by posting their studies and sharing their findings and analyses in their digital student portfolio throughout the year. Fulfills Requirements: Math for CCHS, for UC/CSU Prerequisites: Recommended for students who passed Algebra with a C or better. If you earned less than a "C" in Algebra, you can take the course on a trial basis and will need to show that you can thrive in the class during the first quarter. If you are struggling, I will suggest that you drop the course and remediate Algebra. COURSE GOALS
In addition to the Common Core Standards for the Mathematical Practice listed to the right, goals for this class are that students will:
